Hopefully the ending will be better than the animated one.

We knew it was coming, just not when. Now I can finally start reading it where I left off... 6 years ago? >_>

I only want to know what the ending is. I don't really care enough to read it myself, after suffering through untold hours of mediocrity on the hands of the never-ending never-changing plot.

Episode 20: Inuyasha loves Kikyo and Kagome, but will only admit to liking the former. Seshoumarou is useless to the plot, but shows up a lot to look cool. Naraku is the villain, and everybody wants to kick his ass. Ninja-girl's brother is brainwashed by Naraku, and Muroku is useless because of the bee things. Shippo only exists for comic relief.

Currently: Inuyasha loves Kikyo and Kagome, but will only admit to liking the former. Seshoumarou is useless to the plot, but shows up a lot to look cool. Naraku is the villain, and everybody wants to kick his ass. Ninja-girl's brother is brainwashed by Naraku, and Muroku is useless because of the bee things. Shippo only exists for comic relief.

Actually, if I remember right, Kikyo died for good a little while back in the manga.

I heard the anime didn't have an ending so I thought I'll wait till the manga ended. I assumed it already did by now. 54 volumes. That's a lot of IY.

I still swear the anime "ending" was made to intentionally satirize itself

Spoiler: Kagome BUYS NEW SHOES

I stopped reading Inuyasha years ago and I still haven’t missed much over the years. I was able to get caught up on the plot completely in about 5 minutes. That’s just not right. At least Byakuya was interesting.

Yeah, everyone I've ever heard defend Inuyasha always says, "But he's paralyzed by indecision! He can't choose! Naraku is really tricky! He can't lose!" They make excuses for why the plot hasn't progressed, and while they make sense from the stand point of the series... they don't excuse sloppy writing for not moving things forward.

Now I'm glad to hear SOMETHING has happened, Orochi. I admit that. But I'm willing to be that it's only happened in the last few volumes, and there's still about 50 volumes worth of the same damn thing happening over and over again.

And yeah, I remember Kikyo dying. I thought it was going to rejuvenate the series, ruining at least the stagnation of that love triangle. And then she got better. >_<

Wait, they killed her twice? XD I was talking about the time Naraku powered up and pushed her in a poison river after cutting her up like a Christmas ham.

Yeah, recently in the manga she made peace with herself and InuYasha and Kagome and her soul passed on.

About time Rumiko Takahashi ended IY. IY has been going on far too long with so little progress.

Mason Ikkoku is pretty short manga for her. But even that is 15 volumes and could probably be cut to about 10 volumes. I do like Takahashi's stuff but she could condense most of her mangas to about 1/4th of what they are and lose almost none of the story.

...such as Ranma 1/2 having literally 12 volumes or more that can be cut out with no problems.
Hell, I maintain that after Ryoga got the Shishi Hokodan, the series slipped into the Takahashi Syndrome(tm).

Well, you could say that about most any long-running shounen manga. At least the manga endings to both Ranma and Maison Ikkoku were good, so hopefully InuYasha's will be as well.
